Legacy Lusitano

The Legacy Lusitano program has been established for the promotion and breeding of the Lusitano horse in honour of riding master Frank Grelo. The Lusitano is a Portuguese horse breed, renowned historically for its natural skills used in warfare and now for dressage and other equestrian disciplines. Frank Grelo brought the first Lusitano horses to Canada from Portugal.

Kiowa Farm has 8 PS Lusitanos (PSL - pure blood Lusitanos) including 3 mares, Cinderela, Donairosa, and Fiena from Grelo Farms and a PSL stallion, Bojador Interagro, from Interagro Lusitanos in Brazil. More information about Bojador including his pedigree can be found here.

Born on May 12th, 2020 to Donairosa and Bojador - a grey PSL filly

This filly is full of spunk and sass! She is brave, powerful, independent, and not afraid of anything - a true war horse! She has a well rounded mix of the Veiga and Andrade bloodlines. Quarteza has a natural drive for the spanish walk, capriole, and the levade. At two years old, she stands at 15.1 hands

Born on May 27th, 2021 to Donairosa and Bojador - a chestnut PSL colt

This colt will be kept a stallion. Relic is beautiful mover, very willing, and extremely light and sensitive like his mother. He has a thick, strong bone structure with feet like his father. His favorite air is the levade. For the breed, Relic has a rare and ancient dilute gene that gives him his striking chestnut color with deep blue eyes. He has a balanced mix of the Veiga and Andrade bloodlines, and at 13 months stands at 14.2 hands.

Sirena

Born on June 19th, 2022 to Donairosa and Bojador - a bay PSL filly

Born at a staggeringly tall height of 10.2 hands, this filly has very deep shoulders, and a powerful body. Sirena will make for a fantastic sport horse! She is a great example of the Andrade bloodline.

Fiena's Foal

Born on April 30th, 2022 to Fiena and Bojador - a grey PSL filly

Born a week early, this little filly was the smallest of all the foals at birth, and the snuggliest! She is full of love, has a very sweet temperament like her mother, and is friendly to all. She is powerful, curious, very round and solid with big strong quarters, and is a great example of the Veiga bloodline.
